West Side Story Tour to Kick Off in Detroit this Fall

The national tour of the hit Broadway revival of West Side Story has announced its first stop: The Fisher Theatre in Detroit, Michigan. Directed by Arthur Laurents, the beloved musical will open at the theater in October 2010.

West Side Story features the original Jerome Robbins choreography, restaged by Joey McKneely. The classic musical about warring street gangs in 1950s New York City is written by three Broadway legends: librettist Laurents, composer Leonard Bernstein and lyricsist Stephen Sondheim.
