Broadway baby Jennifer Cody was honored with an Annie Award by the International Animated Film Society on February 6 for her voice work in the Disney animated feature The Princess and the Frog.
Cody played Charlotte La Bouff, the rich friend of the lead character Tiana in The Princess and the Frog. She won the award in the category of Voice Acting in a Feature Production, beating out Dawn French (Coraline), Hugh Laurie (Monsters vs. Aliens), John Leguizamo (Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaur) and Jenifer Lewis (The Princess and the Frog).
Cody has been a Broadway regular for the past 15 years. Notable roles include Cha-Cha Di Gregorio in Grease, Rumpleteaser in Cats, Little Becky Two Shoes in Urinetown and Poopsie in The Pajama Game. Other Broadway credits include Beauty and the Beast, Seussical, Taboo and Shrek the Musical. She recently played Hildy in On the Town at Paper Mill Playhouse.
The Princess and the Frog marked Cody's feature film debut.
