Tony Award winner Michael Rupert, who originated the part of Professor Callahan in the Broadway production of Legally Blonde, will reprise his sharky role on the show's national tour. Rupert begins performances with the traveling production in Denver on February 10. He succeeds original touring cast member Ken Land, who has played Professor Callahan since tour's launch in September 2008.
Rupert joins fellow original Broadway cast member Becky Gulsvig (Elle Woods) and Legally Blonde The Musical: The Search for Elle Woods contestant Rhiannon Hansen (Margot), as well as DB Bonds (Emmett), Natalie Joy Johnson (Paulette), Jeff McLean (Warner), Megan Lewis (Vivienne), Coleen Sexton (Brooke), Tiffany Engen (Serena), Lucia Spina (Enid) and Candice Marie Woods (Pilar). Also featured in the cast are Barry Anderson, Sara Andreas, Kyle Brown, Liberty Cogen, Ven Daniel, Brooke Leigh Engen, Spencer Howard, Paul Jackel, Jason Kappus, Ashley Moniz, Kathleen Elizabeth Monteleone, Brian Patrick Murphy, CJay Hardy Philip, Alex Puette, Jonathan Rayson, Constantine Rousouli and J.B.Wing.
Rupert's Broadway credits include Ragtime, Falsettos, City of Angels, Mail, Sweet Charity (which earned him the Tony Award), Shakespeare's Cabaret, Pippin and The Happy Time. Off-Broadway, he has been seen in Elegies: A Song Cycle, Ancient History, Putting it Together, Falsettoland and March of the Falsettos. Regional credits include The Full Monday, Baby, Adrift in Macao, A New Brain, Golden Boy and Fiddler on the Roof, among many others.
