In honor of Valentine’s Day, Broadway.com decided to ask some of the most romantic people we know—Broadway stars—to share their thoughts on the season of love, and the shows that make them swoon.
GAVIN CREEL (Claude in Hair)
What character from a Broadway show (past or present) could you fall in love with and why?
Tulsa and Louise, in the "All I Need Is a Girl" scene in Gypsy. I love that part. So much longing, so much hope and possibility. All he wants is to realize his dream, and all she wants is to be seen by him. Wow, I sound like such a dork, but I love it.
What’s the best Valentine’s Day gift imaginable? Please explain.
A paid leave of absence, a first-class plane ticket, a hotel with great sheets and pillows, reservations at River Cafe and a pause button.
What advice would you give for having a super-romantic Valentine’s Day?
Make up your own traditions. Don't copy something that people have done before. That, and don't wear underwear.
