Due to popular demand, the New York premiere of Alexi Kaye Campbell's The Pride, directed by Joe Mantello, has extended its run by one week. The limited engagement, which opened at MCC Theatre's Lucille Lortel Theatre on February 16, was originally slated to close on March 20. It will now play through March 28.
The Pride stars Hugh Dancy, Ben Wishaw, Andrea Riseborough and Adam James.
Winner of an Olivier Award following its 2008 premiere at the Royal Court Theatre, The Pride centers on Oliver, Philip and Sylvia, a trio caught in a kind of erotic time warp. Their complex love triangle, replete with conflicting loyalties and passions, jumps from 1958 to the present and back in a maelstrom of fantasy, repression and rebellion. This innovative drama is described an alternately tough and touching look at love and betrayal.
