Current understudy Emily Padgett will assume the starring role of small-town girl Sherrie in the Broadway musical Rock of Ages beginning March 15. She takes over for current leading lady Kerry Butler, who plays her final performance on March 13. In addition, Derek St. Pierre and Katie Webber will join the show on March 22. St. Pierre takes over the madcap role of German land developer Franz, replacing the exiting Tom Lenk, while Webber assumes the part of Waitress #1.
Before joining Rock of Ages, Padgett appeared on Broadway in Legally Blonde and Grease. She recently starred opposite Taylor Hicks in the national tour of Grease.
St. Pierre makes his Broadway debut with Rock of Ages. Regional credits include Camelot and 42nd Street. Webber comes directly from the Broadway company of Memphis. Additional credits include Broadway’s Wicked, Jerry Mitchell’s Peepshow and the film version of Rent.
The trio will be featured alongside current cast members Constantine Maroulis, James Carpinello, Adam Dannheisser, Mitchell Jarvis, Michele Mais, Lauren Molina, Paul Schoeffler, Jenifer Foote, Ericka Hunter, Michael Minarik, Geoff Packard, Angel Reed, Matthew Stocke, Becca Tobin, Katherine Tokarz, Andre Ward, and Jeremy Woodard.
Rock of Ages is set in 1987 on the Sunset Strip, where a small town girl meets a big city rocker in L.A.’s most famous rock club. Their love story is told through the hits of Journey, Bon Jovi, Styx, REO Speedwagon, Pat Benatar, Foreigner, Twisted Sister, Poison, Asia, Whitesnake and many more.
