With Michael Feinstein back on Broadway in All About Me, we asked our readers which other crooners they’d like to see on the boards.
The clear-cut winner is angel-voiced pop singer Josh Groban, who received an astounding 52% of votes. Groban is best known for hit adult contemporary singles like “You Raise Me Up,” “To Where You Are,” “You Are Loved (Don’t Give Up)” and Christmas classics including “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” “Silent Night” and “The First Noel” from his #1 album Noël. He’s previously flirted with acting with small roles on Ally McBeal and Glee and appeared on Broadway for one night, playing Anatoly in the 2003 benefit concert staging of Chess at the New Amsterdam Theatre.
Coming in a highly-respectable second place with 28% of the votes is Michael Bublé. A two-time Grammy winner, Bublé brings a contemporary twist to the throwback swinging sounds of The Rat Pack, performing both original songs and standards. He’s also no stranger to stage productions, having appeared in the touring shows Forever Swing and Red Rock Diner.
The remaining seven crooners on our poll list made up the remaining 20% of the votes, with British wild child Jamie Cullum (who’s known to perform showtunes like “I Could Have Danced All Night” and “I Get a Kick Out of You”) earning third spot with 5%.
