The winners of the 2010 Olivier Awards were announced on March 21, 2010 at the Grosvenor House in London. There has been a great exchange between London and New York theater this year, including two nominated plays set for the spring Broadway season: Enron by Lucy Prebble and John Logan’s Red (with the winning play, The Mountaintop by Katori Hall, already eyeing a Broadway run in the fall). But the big news at this year’s awards were the Broadway exports that came out on top: namely, the Debbie Allen-directed all-black revival of Tennessee Williams’ Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, and a pair of Tony-winning tuners: Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater’s Spring Awakening and Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman’s smash-hit Wicked. Take a look at the complete list below (a full list of nominees is here) to see who else came home a winner on British theater’s biggest night.
