Broadway composer and pop superstar Elton John visits with Oprah Winfrey. Joining him are the boys who play the title role in the newly opened Chicago production of Billy Elliot, Tommy Batchelor, Giuseppe Bausilio, Cesar Corrales and J.P. Viernes.
Set in a small British mining town, Billy Elliot follows Billy as he stumbles out of the boxing ring and into a ballet class, discovering a passion that takes him by surprise and takes his whole family on an incredible adventure. Featuring music by Elton John, book and lyrics by Lee Hall, choreography by Peter Darling and direction by Stephen Daldry, the show opened at Broadway’s Imperial Theatre on November 13, 2008, and was the winner of 10 2009 Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
