We know you’re dying to catch a glimpse of one of the most highly anticipated Broadway pairings of the season: Oscar winner Denzel Washington and Tony winner Viola Davis in the revival of August Wilson’s Fences, which started performances on April 14 at the Cort Theatre. Well, here it is exclusively! Washington plays sanitation worker Troy Maxson in the intense family drama with Davis as his peacemaking wife, Rose. It’s no surprise that Tinseltown top dog Washington is making this limited engagement one of the hottest tickets around. But mark our words and keep your eye on Davis, who nabbed an Oscar nom for her short but powerful performance in Doubt. With rumors of an upcoming starring role in the film adaptation of Kathryn Stockett’s bestselling novel The Help, Davis is poised to be a Hollywood heavy-hitter herself! See them both in Fences, which opens at Broadway’s Cort Theatre on April 26. Photo by Joan Marcus
