Broadway is getting Tony Award nominee and Grammy Award winner Harry Connick Jr. back—for a limited time only. The classy crooner will star in Harry Connick Jr. in Concert on Broadway at the Neil Simon Theatre, beginning performances on July 15. The 11-show engagement plays through July 26.
In addition to his Tony-nominated performance in The Pajama Game, Connick has performed sold-out concerts on Broadway and received an additional Tony Award nomination for his music and lyrics to 2001's Thou Shalt Not. Film acting credits include P.S. I Love You, New in Town, Copycat, Independence Day, My Dog Skip, The Iron Giant and Hope Floats. Connick's music has been featured in films such as When Harry Met Sally and Sleepless in Seattle. His numerous television appearances, concerts and albums have earned him three Grammy Awards and an Emmy.
The forthcoming concerts should tide over Connick fans who were disappointed by the delay of Nice Work if You Can Get It, the jazzy star vehicle that cancelled its 2009 pre-Broadway run. Harry Connick Jr. in Concert on Broadway will be presented by James L. Nederlander and Broadway Across America.
