The 2009 Tony Award-winning play God of Carnage has set a closing date of June 27 at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre. Yasmina Reza’s comedy recently passed its 400th Broadway performance, directed by Matthew Warchus.
God of Carnage opened on March 22, 2009, and received Tonys for Best Play and Best Actress (Marcia Gay Harden). The play currently stars Jeff Daniels (who originated the role of Alan and returned to the show on March 2, 2010, in the role of Michael), Dylan Baker, Lucy Liu, and original London star Janet McTeer.
Described as a comedy of manners without the manners, God of Carnage deals with the aftermath of a playground altercation between two boys and what happens when their parents meet for dinner to talk about it.
