Original cast member Jennifer Barnhart will return to off-Broadway’s Avenue Q in the roles of Mrs. T, Bad Idea Bear and others on May 2 at New World Stages. Barnhart created the roles in the show’s 2003 off-Broadway premiere at the Vineyard Theater, as well as its Tony Award-winning Broadway run, in which she played more than 2,000 performances.
Barnhart’s other theater credits include Stuffed and Unstrung, Jim Henson’s Emmet Otter, Into the Woods and Angels in America.
Avenue Q follows an intermingling group of young adults, comprised of both humans and puppets, trying to find their way in New York City. After a six-year Broadway run, Avenue Q transferred to off-Broadway’s New World Stages in October 2009.
Barnhart joins a cast that includes Sarah Stiles, Seth Rettberg, Ann Sanders, Cullen R. Titmas, Nicholas Kohn and Danielle K. Thomas.
