Sondheim on Sondheim Extends for Two Weeks at Studio 54

Roundabout Theatre Company will extend its Broadway production of Sondheim on Sondheim for two weeks at Studio 54. The musical revue, which opened on April 22, will now run through June 27, conceived and directed by James Lapine.

Sondheim on Sondheim stars Barbara Cook, Vanessa Williams, Tom Wopat, Leslie Kritzer, Norm Lewis, Euan Morton, Erin Mackey and Matthew Scott.

An intimate portrait of the famed composer in his own words and music, Sondheim on Sondheim uses exclusive interview footage to provide an inside look at Sondheim’s personal life and artistic process. The starry cast performs new arrangements of more two dozen Sondheim tunes, ranging from the beloved to the obscure.

Sondheim on Sondheim has been nominated for a 2010 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Musical Revue, an Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding New Broadway Musical and a Drama League Award for Distinguished Production of a Musical.
