Broadway and movie vet Michael McKean will join the cast of the hit off-Broadway revival of Thornton Wilder’s Our Town on June 2 as the Stage Manager. He replaces Michael Shannon, who gave his final performance on May 23. During the interim, Robert Beitzel will play the Stage Manager. Our Town continues its run at the Barrow Street Theatre, directed by David Cromer.
McKean most recently starred in the Broadway production of Tracy Letts’ Superior Donuts. Other Broadway credits include The Pajama Game, The Homecoming, Hairspray and Accomplice. Off-Broadway, he appeared in Woody Allen’s A Second Hand Memory. McKean is known for his leading role in the movie (and band) This Is Spinal Tap and for the films of Christopher Guest, including A Mighty Wind and Best in Show.

Our Town opened on February 26, 2009, and sent on to win the Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Production and Outstanding Direction and Obie Award for Outstanding Director. In December 2009, it became the longest-running production of the play in its 72-year history.
