Steel Burkhardt Replaces Will Swenson in London Production of Hair

Steel Burkhardt, an original Tribe member in the Tony-winning Broadway revival of Hair, assumed the role of Berger in the London company of the show on May 31 at the Gielgud Theatre. Burkhardt replaces Tony nominee Will Swenson, who opened in the West End on April 14 alongside most of the 2009 Broadway cast. Hair is set to close in London on September 4.

Swenson has been announced as the star of the pre-Broadway run of the musical Priscilla Queen of the Desert at Toronto’s Prince of Wales Theatre. The show will begin a 12-week run on October 12 before transferring to Broadway later in the season.

The Broadway company of Hair continues its run at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre.
