Saturday Night Live alum Colin Quinn is headed off-Broadway in Long Story Short, a new solo show written by the comedian and directed by Jerry Seinfeld. The 75-minute evening will play a limited engagement at Bleecker Street Theatre for eight weeks only, June 19-August 15. No opening night date has been announced.
Covering more than 2,000 years Long Story Short is described as Quinn’s hilarious look at the ups and downs of great civilizations gone wrong. In this one-man sendup, the actor channels the comedic personalities of nations past, offering satirical takes on the attitudes, appetites and habits that toppled powerful empires. Charting a comical course from the excess of ancient Rome to Wal Mart/Costco/Best Buy, Quinn proves that the forces undermining the American empire are as old as time.
The production will feature set and projection design by Aaron Rhyne, sound design by Scott Elmegreen, and lighting design by Perchik Kreiman-Miller.
