Kelli O’Hara, who won raves and a Best Actress Tony Award nomination for her performance as Ensign Nellie Forbush in Lincoln Center Theater’s revival of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s South Pacific, will return to the production on August 10 and remain through its August 22 closing date.
The Tony-winning production will be broadcast nationally on August 18 in an episode of the PBS series Live from Lincoln Center. South Pacific opened on April 3, 2008, at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre, directed by Bartlett Sher.
South Pacific currently stars Laura Osnes as Nellie Forbush and William Michals as Emile de Becque. Tony winner Paulo Szot will return to the role of Emile on July 6 and will finish the run with O’Hara and original headliners Danny Burstein (Luther Billis) and Loretta Ables Sayre (Bloody Mary).
