Nunsense, the classic heavenly musical, begins performances at off-Broadway's Cherry Lane Theatre in celebration of its 25th anniversary.
Originally performed as a cabaret show,Nunsense follows the antics of a group of nuns who have learned one of their fellow sisters has accidently poisoned dozens of convent members. The show’s first fully staged off-Broadway production opened on December 12, 1985, at the Cherry Lane, where it played for 3672 performances before closing in 1994. The show has since gone on to inspire several spin-offs such as Nunsense A-Men! and Meshuggah-Nuns, which will receive a DVD release on April 27.
