Sutton Foster is going to the dark side…sort of. The notably laid-back Tony Award winner, best known for her bright-eyed turns in musical comedies like Thoroughly Modern Millie, Young Frankenstein and Shrek the Musical, is shedding the tap shoes and taking on the world premiere of Paul Weitz’s dark comedy Trust, which officially opens its limited engagement at Second Stage on August 12. The new show, co-starring Zach Braff (Scrubs), Bobby Cannavale (Mauritius) and Ari Graynor (The Little Dog Laughed), explores the corrosive effect of power and relationships through the story of Harry (Braff), a wealthy married man who “looks to find something real in the most unlikely of places.” From the look of Joan Marcus' promotional photo (Sutton! Sultry stares!) for the show, things are going to get sexy. You’ll have the chance to see for yourself once Trust begins previews on July 23.
