Race Ends Its Broadway Run

David Mamet's Race plays its final performance at Broadway's Ethel Barrymore Theatre. The play currently stars Eddie Izzard, Dennis Haysbert, Richard Thomas and Afton C. Williamson.

Race follows three lawyers who find themselves defending a middle-aged, white businessman accused of a crime against a young African-American woman. The show opened on December 6, 2009, and became the first new Broadway play of the season to recoup its initial investment.
