The Addams Family's Nathan Lane will guest star on the hit ABC series Modern Family this fall, according to Deadline.com. Lane will play Pepper, a longtime friend of the show's gay couple, Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Cameron (Eric Stonestreet).
Lane won Tony Awards for A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and The Producers. His many Broadway credits include Waiting for Godot, Butley, The Frogs, November, and Guys and Dolls.
Modern Family received 14 Emmy nominations for its first season, including Outstanding Comedy Series. The show stars several Broadway vets including Ferguson (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), Sophia Vergara (Chicago), Sarah Hyland (Grey Gardens) and Ty Burrell (Macbeth). The second season will begin on September 22.
