Tickets are now on sale for Roundabout Theatre Company’s Broadway production of Kneehigh Theatre’s Brief Encounter. Directed by Emma Rice, the adaptation of this Noel Coward film classic begins previews at Studio 54 on September 10, with opening set for September 28. The limited engagement plays through December 5, 2010.
An all-media reimagining of Coward’s beloved screenplay of the same title, Brief Encounter chronicles the romantic journey of an unhappily married woman and the handsome doctor who falls for her when the pair meet unexpectedly in a train station coffee shop. The production uses live music, song, dance, Technicolor film tricks and inventive staging to bring the film to life. A breakout hit at Kneehigh’s home in London, Brief Encounter played a sold out run at Brooklyn’s St. Ann’s Warehouse in late 2009.
If you missed this one at St. Ann's, don't get your heart broken twice. Snatch up tickets now for your own encounter with Broadway's Brief Encounter.
