Broadway’s Christopher Jackson has called one place home since 2002: Tony-winning hit musical In the Heights. A key player in the sweet story of one neighborhood family in the New York neighborhood of Washington Heights, Jackson originated the role of Benny in early readings, played the part (and met his wife) during its winter 2007 off-Broadway debut, jumped with the show when it took Broadway by storm in February 2008, toasted the production’s Best Musical Tony Award win later that year and has since played through hundreds of performances, press events and special appearances. On August 15, Jackson finally said goodbye to his familiar ‘hood, making room for newcomer Clifton Oliver to take over as neighborhood romantic Benny. But the In the Heights team didn’t let Jackson leave without an appropriate send-off. Here's a touching goodbye video for Jackson, featuring footage from behind the scenes, backstage, on stage, rehearsals, media events…even the actor’s own living room.
