Broadway theatergoers will get a second chance to see Donald Margulies' Tony-nominated drama Time Stands Still this fall, starring Tony nominee Laura Linney and Broadway.com Audience Award winner Brian d’Arcy James. Tickets are now on sale for Daniel Sullivan’s acclaimed production, which begins a return engagement at the Cort Theatre on September 23. Eric Bogosian and cast newcomer Christina Ricci co-star.
Time Stands Still centers on Sarah and James (played by Linney and James), a photographer and journalist who have been together for nine years and share a passion for documenting the realities of war. But when injuries force them to return home to New York, the adventurous couple confronts the prospect of a more conventional life. Bogosian and Ricci co-star as Sarah’s editor and his much-younger girlfriend, who questions Sarah’s choices.
The play and its stars received glowing reviews in Manhattan Theatre Club’s original Broadway production in January 2010, but Time Stands Still did not extend because Linney was set to film the first season of her new Showtime series The Big C. Now the Emmy-winning, Oscar-nominated star is headed back to Broadway, so don’t miss this opportunity to see her and her starry co-stars in a riveting new play.
