Two ladies we love—Promises, Promises star Kristin Chenoweth and D-List diva Kathy Griffin—were the hottest gal couple at the 2010 Creative Arts Emmy Awards on August 21. Sadly, the funny ladies both went home empty-handed, Chenoweth losing the guest star category to Betty White and Griffin missing out on another reality show win for her My Life on the D-List to Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution, which happens to be produced by her arch nemesis Ryan Seacrest.
After the show, the gorgeous gal pals tweeted the hilarious photo above during their post-show partying, but the whole night they actually kept fans abreast of their shenanigans via Twitter.
First, Griffin (who can be found on Twitter here) tweeted the photo below with Chenoweth (taking a night off from Broadway) from the back of their limo, announcing their Hollywood couple name as "Chenoffin." On her Twitter feed, the Broadway cutie wrote, "Just picked up my friend Kathy Griffin. She looks prettier than me. I don't know how I feel about that."
After Chenoweth lost her category early in the night, Griffin called her a "classy chick" for sticking around to see the reality show category. Classy indeed: Chenoweth tweeted, "So happy Betty White won! I love you, Betty." As she was waiting in her seat, Chenoweth wrote of her Glee character, "April Rhodes would be on her third bottle of wine! Keeping fingers crossed for Kathy Griffin!"
Once Griffin got the difficult news, Chenoweth wrote, "Kathy lost to a food show! I don't like it! Not one bit!" Over on her Twitter page, Griffin tweeted a series of trashy reactions, finally writing, "Call the paramedics. I'm putting myself on a 5150 psych hold (a la Britney) 72 hours in a padded cell, far, far away from Ryan Seacrest."
Around the same time Griffin tweeted their official photo above as Emmy Losers We Love (this year at least—they've both won before!), Chenoweth had the final word: "This is April Rhodes talking. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it."
Better luck next year, ladies!
