La Cage Star Kelsey Grammer to Host Broadway on Broadway

Tony-nominated La Cage aux Folles star Kelsey Grammer will host the 2010 Broadway on Broadway concert. The annual event, which features performances from new Broadway shows and long-running favorites, will take place on September 12 at 11:30am in Times Square.

"It is an honor to be hosting this year’s Broadway on Broadway,” Grammer said in a staement. "I love being a part of the Broadway community and I look forward to showing the Broadway fans from New York and around the world just what we have to offer. The best of times is now!”

Though the concert lineup is subject to change, shows expected to participate include The Addams Family, American Idiot, Billy Elliot The Musical, Chicago, Elf, Fela!, In the Heights, La Cage aux Folles, The Lion King, Mamma Mia!, Memphis, Million Dollar Quartet, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, The Phantom of the Opera, Promises, Promises, Rain: A Tribute to the Beatles on Broadway, Rock of Ages, The Scottsboro Boys and West Side Story.

The Broadway on Broadway crowd stretches from an entrance at 43rd Street and Broadway north to 47th Street. The event is jointly produced by the Broadway League and the Times Square Alliance.
