Darren Goldstein, Bryce Pinkham and Nadia Quinn will be among the rocking cast members of Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson when the musical hits Broadway. Goldstein (cast as Calhoun) and Pinkham (Clay) both appeared in the Public Theater's 2009 LAB production of Jackson, before the fully staged production that ran earlier this year. With Benjamin Walker reprising his acclaimed performance in the title role, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson will begin previews at the Bernard Jacobs Theatre on September 20, with opening night set for October 13.
Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson will mark the Broadway debut for all three performers. Goldstein has been seen off-Broadway in Oohrah, Abigail's Party, Mouth to Mouth, Terrorism, Mary Rose and Gutenberg! the Musical. Pinkham was last seen in the Signature Theatre's The Orphans' Home Cycle. His many regional credits include A View From the Bridge, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and Beyond Therapy.
An exaggerated account of the nation's seventh president, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson features a score by Michael Friedman and a book by Alex Timbers, who is also directing. The show will feature scenic design by Donyale Werle, costume design by Emily Rebholz, lighting design by Justin Townsend, sound design by Bart Fasbender and choreography by Danny Mefford. Additional casting will be announced shortly.
