One of the fall season’s most anticipated shows is now on sale: Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, the starry Broadway musical adaptation of Pedro Almodovar’s hit movie comedy. With a cast led by Sherie Rene Scott, Laura Benanti, Patti LuPone and Brian Stokes Mitchell, Lincoln Center Theater’s production will transport audiences to 1980s Madrid, charting an eventful 48 hours in the lives of several high-strung women and the men they love.
This world premiere musical is the latest collaboration between the talented duo behind Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, composer and lyricist David Yazbek and book writer Jeffrey Lane. The Broadway production of Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, which begins previews on October 2 and opens on November 4 at the newly renovated Belasco Theatre, is directed by Tony winner Bartlett Sher.
In addition to Scott and Tony winners Benanti, LuPone and Mitchell, the show will feature de'Adre Aziza, Danny Burstein, Mary Beth Peil and Nikka Graff Lanzarone.
