Broadway baby Lea Michele has landed a solo cover on one of America’s top-selling magazines: Glamour. The Emmy-nominated Glee star graces the Conde Nast title’s September issue, and fans can get a look at a gallery of photographer Matthias Vriens-McGrath’s sexy shots from the petite actress’ cover shoot on glamour.com.
In Glamour's cover story, Michele chats about her history as a Broadway actress, denies any on-set rivalries among the young cast of Glee and opens up about her boyfriend (and Emmy date), American Idiot cast member Theo Stockman. “I didn’t know I could sing until I auditioned for Les Miserables,” she says, repeating a story she had told Broadway.com in a wide-ranging interview while she was starring in Spring Awakening. “I was a ballsy little kid. I felt no fear at all.”
Speaking about Glee, Michele says co-star Cory Monteith is "like my brother" and praises Amber Riley as someone who “inspires me, protects me, she makes me laugh, she tells me not to take myself so seriously. We’re both big personalities, and you definitely would think we’d bump heads. But she has taught me more about myself than anyone.”
As for boyfriend Stockman, a subject the actress has managed to avoid in most interviews, Michele says, “He lets me be who I am,” adding, “I would rather be long-distance with him than not have a relationship at all.” Their favorite romantic evening? “Scary movie, pizza, being at home, maybe having friends over and a great bottle of wine.”
