Idol Star Jordin Sparks Returns to In The Heights

After a temporary leave of absence due to a hip injury, American Idol winner Jordin Sparks has resumed performances in In The Heights. Sparks was injured during the August 28 evening performance and finished the remainder of that performance. She then missed four performances through September 1 on doctor's orders. Sparks returned to her regular show schedule on September 2 at the Richard Rodgers Theatre.

Sparks joined the Heights cast as neighborhood sweetheart Nina on August 19. In the Heights also currently stars Kyle Beltran as Usnavi, Marcy Harriell as Vanessa, Priscilla Lopez as Camila, Bianca Marroquin as Daniela, Olga Merediz as Abuela Claudia, Rick Negron as Kevin, Clifton Oliver as Benny and Shaun Taylor-Corbett as Sonny.
