Broadway veteran Adam Heller completes the cast of the forthcoming off-Broadway revival of Wings, joining previously announced four-time Tony nominee Jan Maxwell. The Arthur Kopit play, directed by John Doyle, will begin performances October 5 at Second Stage Theatre, with an official opening October 24.
Heller joins Maxwell and previously announced cast members Teagle F. Bougere, Beth Dixon, January LaVoy, Anne L. Nathan, and Michael Warner.
Heller has appeared on Broadway in Caroline, or Change, A Class Act, Victor/Victoria and Les Miserables. His off-Broadway credits include Make Me a Song, Endgame, The Immigrant and Merrily We Roll Along.
Wings follows the adventures of Emily Stilson, a 1920s wingwalker who continues on with her daredevil stunts despite mental self-doubts. The show first opened on Broadway on January 28, 1979 and received a Tony nomination for Best Play, as well as a win for lead actress Constance Cummings.
Wings will feature scenic design by Scott Pask, costume design by Ann Hould-Ward, lighting design by Jane Cox and projection design by Peter Nigrini.
