British import Brief Encounter has made it to Broadway, and Broadway.com’s resident artist Justin ‘Squigs’ Robertson is on the welcome wagon! What artist could resist this story of forbidden passion? Squigs captured star-crossed lovers Hannah Yelland and Tristan Sturrock as an unhappily married woman and the handsome doctor who falls for her in this dreamy multimedia production. Adapted from Noel Coward’s screenplay for Brief Encounter and his one-act play, Still Life, that inspired it, this Roundabout Theatre Company production opens September 28 at Studio 54. Come and sit a while with Brief Encounter!
About the Artist: With a desire to celebrate the magic of live theater and those who create it, and with a deep reverence for such touchstones as the work of Al Hirschfeld and the wall at Sardi’s, Squigs is happy and grateful to be among those carrying on the traditions where theater and caricature meet. He was born and raised in Oregon, lived in Los Angeles for quite a long time and now calls New York City his home. Photo by Matthew Murphy
