Leap of Faith, the new gospel-infused musical starring Raul Esparza and Brooke Shields, is grooving its way into L.A.’s Ahmanson Theatre, and we’ve got a video sneak peek! The show is based on the 1992 Steve Martin film and boasts a score by eight—count ‘em, eight!—time Oscar winner Alan Menken. Jonas Nightengale (Esparza), is a con man, er…preacher, whose traveling ministry breaks down in small town Kansas. Never one to miss an opportunity, Nightengale gets the good people of the town together for a revival meeting. The local sheriff is determined to stop him from bilking his constituents, but Nightengale’s real challenge arises when he meets a pretty waitress (Shields) and her son, whose love forces an ultimate cynic to take a real leap of faith.
