Florence Henderson Waltzes to the Sound of 'Edelweiss' on Dancing with the Stars

Never mind The Brady Bunch: Florence Henderson got back to her theatrical roots on the October 4 episode of Dancing with the Stars by performing a waltz to “Edelweiss” from The Sound of Music. The 76-year-old star fondly recalled playing Maria on the show's national tour (on Broadway, she played another R&H heroine, Laurey, in a 1953 revival of Oklahoma!) and responded enthusiastically when pro partner Corky Ballas informed her of the week’s musical selection. Though the judges gave the performance mixed reviews (and a total of 20 out of a possible 30 points), we were thrilled to see Broadway represented in such a classy manner—though we could have done without the liplock that ended the number.
