Off-Broadway's MCC Theater has announced the lineup for its fall 2010 PlayLab reading series of three new works by the company's Playwrights' Coalition. The Monday night series presents readings in front of an audience, providing a showcase for member playwrights.
The series will kick off on October 18 with Serverlove, written by Jason Chimonides and directed by Josh Hecht. Thomas Sadoski and Marin Ireland, both of whom received Tony nominations for MCC’s production of Neil LaBute’s Reasons to Be Pretty, will star.
Next up will be The Fat Cat Killers on October 25. Ethan McSweeney directs the Adam Szymkowicz play. It will star Michael Chernus and Erin Gann, who appeared together in the recent Rattlestick Theater production of Annie Baker’s The Aliens.
The final reading of the series will be Good Deeds for a Weary World on November 2. The Gary Sunshine-penned play will star Kellie Overbey (The Coast of Utopia). A director has yet to be announced.
All readings will take place at the Baruch Performing Arts Center and are free of charge to the public.
