Grab the popcorn and settle in for some bloody good fun: Rupert Goold’s film adaptatiomn of his acclaimed production of Macbeth, starring Tony nominees Patrick Stewart and Kate Fleetwood, debuts on PBS on October 6. This smash hit staging, which began in Chichester in 2007 before enjoying sold-out runs at BAM and Broadway’s Lyceum Theatre in 2008, places Shakespeare’s nasty royal couple in an nameless 20th century militaristic state. Stewart, Fleetwood and other members of the original cast reunited at the end of 2009 to preserve their fast-moving production on film.
