With Halloween right around the corner, Broadway.com is celebrating all week by filling your online trick-or-treat bags with some past Halloween-themed video goodies! Today's treat comes courtesy of Broadway legend Chita Rivera. The actress pulled in her second Tony Award for playing the title character in 1983's Kiss of the Spider Woman, but that wasn't her first experience of arachnid inspiration, thanks to a performance on The Carol Burnett Show in 1971. A leather-clad Rivera appeared on stage in front of a giant spider web to dance deviously to Blood Sweat and Tears' rendition of "Lucretia McEvil." Not surprisingly Rivera lures an array of male dancers into her web with the help of some sexy dance moves. Not enough Chita for you? We've got a second clip dating even further back, to 1965, when Rivera, this time accompanied by Burnett and Caterina Valente, sports a seriously ghoulish gown that would even make The Addams Family's Morticia jealous. The trio took on the Flower Drum Song classic "I Enjoy Being a Girl" by giving the sugary song a spooky twist. The ladies even receive a fitting introduction from horror movie legend Boris Karloff.
