Shakespeare fans of all ages crowded outside Broadway’s Broadhurst Theatre on November 7, as they vied to catch a glimpse of The Merchant of Venice’s opening celebration. Well, the all-star cast, led by Al Pacino and Lily Rabe, may have had something to do with it. Broadway.com chatted with the Shakespeare-loving stars walking the red carpet, and then headed to swanky Espace to catch the stars of the show as they arrived to celebrate their Broadway bow.
