Long Before Long Story Short, Colin Quinn Rapped Like LL Cool J and Dressed Like Batman's Robin

If you’ve seen Colin Quinn’s one-man Broadway show Long Story Short, now running at the Helen Hayes Theatre, it’s pretty clear that, as far as comedy goes, this ain’t Quinn’s first rodeo. Broadway.com got to digging into Quinn's comedy past and turned up this little 1989 gem from an MTV special featuring not only Quinn but a very young Ben Stiller. The pair co-wrote this video short called Going Back to Brooklyn, a spoof on Spike Lee’s Do the Right Thing and LL Cool J’s song “Going Back to Cali.” If you want to see Quinn dressed as superhero sidekick Robin and rapping in a Kangol hat, look no further! For those of us of a certain age, the ‘80s references (Kirk Cameron!) are icing on the cake. Check it out!
