The Scottsboro Boys have been saying "Hey, Hey, Hey, Hey" to audiences since their recent opening night, and Broadway.com's resident artist Justin 'Squigs' Robertson recently went to the Lyceum Theatre to make their acquaintance. Squigs pulled out some red, white and blue ink to capture the mood of the Kander & Ebb musical, which examines a dark chapter in American history. The show's characters may be referred to collectively as the Scottsboro Boys, but Squigs made sure to leave enough space to capture the entire cast, including Tony winner John Cullum, Colman Domingo, Forrest McClendon and Joshua Henry. Take a look at Squigs' take on the show!
About the Artist: With a desire to celebrate the magic of live theater and those who create it, and with a deep reverence for such touchstones as the work of Al Hirschfeld and the wall at Sardi’s, Squigs is happy and grateful to be among those carrying on the traditions where theater and caricature meet. He was born and raised in Oregon, lived in Los Angeles for quite a long time and now calls New York City his home. Photo by Matthew Murphy
