Former Glee guest star John Lloyd Young isn’t expecting an invite back on the Fox series, at least not while Rachel Berry is walking the hallways of William McKinley High!
During a recent interview with the Dutch website MusicalWorld.tv, the Tony Award winner was asked if his season one character, Henri St. Pierre, a thumbless woodshop teacher addicted to over-the-counter cough medicine, would return to the show.
“I don’t know,” he responded. “My ex-girlfriend is the star of the show so we’ll have to see... Maybe after her character graduates high school!”
Young began dating fellow Broadway star Lea Michele in the summer of 2008, when he played Marius to her Eponine in the Hollywood Bowl concert staging of Les Miserables. The two New York transplants in Los Angeles were still together when Michele landed the role of Rachel in Glee later that year, but she is now dating American Idiot star Theo Stockman.
Since winning the Tony as the original Frankie Valli in Jersey Boys, Young has starred as the lead in the indie film comedy Oy Vey! My Son is Gay, dabbled in mixed-media pop art and released a love song last Valentine’s Day.
