Well, it ain’t GQ, so America’s parents can relax. Glee stars Lea Michele and Cory Monteith grace the December 2010 cover of Teen Vogue in one of a series of charming, G-rated photos by Regan Cameron. The cover story is similarly all-American, with Michele and Monteith ribbing each other about their path to TV stardom. As Cory begins talking about his background in “lots of really bad sci-fi movies,” Lea pipes up: “Hybrid. Check it out.” And when the Broadway vet mentions Spring Awakening, Cory interrupts her by crying out, “You were in Spring Awakening?” (He’s heard about it more than once from fans.)
Interviewer Lauren Waterman refers to Michele as “an ambitious ex-New Yorker” and describes Monteith as a “former odd-jobber who was so unsure of his singing that he elected to drum on Tupperware and wineglasses with a pair of unsharpened pencils during his first audition for the show.” Needless to say, both of them have come a long way.
The December issue of Teen Vogue featuring an extended feature about Michele and Monteith will be on newsstands on November 23.
