Mark Evans will join the London production of Wicked as Fiyero beginning February 7, 2011, opposite Rachel Tucker as Elphaba and Louise Dearman as Glinda. The cast will also include Julie Legrand (Madame Morrible), Clive Carter (The Wizard) and Julian Forsyth (Doctor Dillamond).
Since March 2010, Evans has been starring as Curly in a UK tour of Oklahoma! with Marti Webb. In 2009, he was a finalist in Eurovision - Your Country Needs You on BBC1 and is shortly to begin filming a new children’s series for Welsh television. Evans has also appeared in High School Musical at the Hammersmith Apollo, the UK tours of The Rocky Horror Show and Seven Brides For Seven Brothers, and the 2007 London cast of Wicked.
Based on the acclaimed novel by Gregory Maguire that re-imagined the stories and characters created by L. Frank Baum Wicked tells the incredible untold story of an unlikely but profound friendship between two girls who first meet as sorcery students. Their adventures in Oz ultimately see them fulfill their destinies as Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.
