Glee stars Jane Lynch and Chris Colfer and the show’s ensemble of actors have been nominated for 2011 SAG Awards, presented annually by the Screen Actors Guild. The ceremony will be held on January 30 at the Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center and telecast live on the TNT and TBS networks.
Lynch and Colfer are nominated in the lead acting categories for a comedy series for their performances as Sue Sylvester and Kurt Hummel. Nominated actors in the Glee ensemble, which won the SAG Award last year in the show's premiere season, include Max Adler, Dianna Agron, Colfer, Lynch, Jayma Mays, Kevin McHale, Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Heather Morris, Matthew Morrison, Mike O’Malley, Amber Riley, Naya Rivera, Mark Salling, Harry Shum Jr., Iqbal Theba and Jenna Ushkowitz. Also nominated are the ensembles from 30 Rock, Hot in Cleveland, Modern Family and The Office.
The nominees for SAG Awards are chosen by a pair of randomly selected panels of Guild members across the United States, one for film categories and one for television. These are the only awards voted on entirely by the nominees’ peers.
