Lovers of classic theater are in for a treat, as Oscar Wilde’s elegant and eloquent The Importance of Being Earnest is again treading the Broadway boards. The production, starring Dana Ivey as Miss Prism and director Brian Bedford as the formidable Lady Bracknell, is currently running at Roundabout Theatre Company’s American Airlines Theatre. This comedy of manners and mistaken identities bubbles with laughs and love stories, all complicated by the imaginary characters invented by both leading men to cover up their on-the-sly activities. Wrap it all with inimitable Wilde wit and this play, opening January 13, 2011, is the whole stylish package. Take a first look at Joan Marcus' production shots of the production, then make plans to see Earnest for yourself.
