End of the Rainbow, starring Oliver winner Tracie Bennett as Judy Garland, is extending its run at the West End’s Trafalgar Studios. The Terry Johnson-helmed show, which was scheduled to close on March 5, will now run through April 16.
Set in 1968 London, End of the Rainbow follows Garland late in her life as she struggles with drug and alcohol addiction while performing a series of concerts in hopes of reclaiming her former glory. The show features such Garland classics as "The Man That Got Away," "Come Rain or Come Shine," "The Trolley Song" and "Somewhere Over the Rainbow."
In addition to Bennett, the cast of End of the Rainbow includes Hilton McRae, Stephen Hagan and Robin Browne, as well as a six-piece onstage band.
End of the Rainbow began life in Northampton in February 2010 before transferring to the West End, where it officially opened on November 22, 2010.
