The rocking atmosphere at the St. James Theatre feels even more like a wild concert these days as Green Day front man Billie Joe Armstrong joins the cast of American Idiot for a limited engagement. Playing the malevolent drug dealer St. Jimmy, Armstrong is wailing his Grammy-winning band's songs on the Great White Way, and Broadway.com's resident artist Justin 'Squigs' Robertson headed over to the theater to catch him in action. Take a look as Squigs turns his pen on the heavily tattooed rock star alongside Idiot's leading couple John Gallagher Jr. and Rebecca Naomi Jones. Be sure to check out Armstrong for yourself in select performances through February 27!
About the Artist: With a desire to celebrate the magic of live theater and those who create it, and with a deep reverence for such touchstones as the work of Al Hirschfeld and the wall at Sardi’s, Squigs is happy and grateful to be among those carrying on the traditions where theater and caricature meet. He was born and raised in Oregon, lived in Los Angeles for quite a long time and now calls New York City his home. Photo by Matthew Murphy
