Take a First Look at the Top-Drawer Cast of Lost in the Stars at Encores!

Musical theater fans are excitedly gearing up to see a rare production of Kurt Weill and Maxwell Anderson’s 1949 collaboration Lost in the Stars at Encores! Director Gary Griffin has assembled a fantastic cast for this so-called “musical tragedy” centering on two families in South Africa at the height of Apartheid. Tony winner Chuck Cooper leads the cast, with Tony nominee Daniel Breaker as his wayward son. Before rehearsal at New York City Center on January 26, Joan Marcus gathered the cast for a series of portraits. The actors seem understandably thrilled to be part of this production, and we're just as eager to experience it during its February 3-6 run.
