Looks like Bono and The Edge are joining forces with Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark star Reeve Carney and his band beyond the Broadway stage.
The Broadway newcomer's eponymous rock group, which appears onstage in the musical extravaganza, is set to perform as an opening act for U2 this summer, according to Carney's Twitter account. The band will take the stage for one night only on July 30 in New Brunswick, Canada. Current Grammy darlings Arcade Fire will also open for U2.
"They're really nice guys," Carney recently told Broadway.com about Spider-Man composers Bono and The Edge. "It's nice to see they've been pretty unaffected by all their success. My brother [Carney guitarist Zane Carney] has really learned a lot from them musically."
Featuring music by Bono and the Edge and directed by Julie Taymor, the currently previewing Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark is set to open on March 15 at the Foxwoods Theatre.
